Elul: Finding Meaning in the Field

In this short Elul talk, Rabbi Silber unpacks the well-known mashal of the King in the field: during the rest of the year the King sits in His palace, formal and guarded, but throughout Elul He goes out into the field where anyone — from the greatest tzaddik to the simplest Jew — can run up and access Him directly, with no barriers to entry. He challenges listeners not to let the war's ongoing tragedies become numbing background noise, "our norm," but to use this unprecedented closeness to reignite a real relationship with Hashem. The message is urgent and personal: run to the King while He is in the field, and once you find Him, do not let Him go.
